What do you guys think of this diet plan?

HAHAHAHA

I usually have trouble sticking to a written out and timed plan, because I have a very busy schedule. So what I was thinking of trying is just trying to eat something small every 3-4 hours whether it be sliced turkey breast, fruits/veggies, sunflower seeds etc. my only concern with that is that I would not take in enough calories

Answer
So why bother...? Who says you need to eat every 2-3 hours...? It's nonsense! I've not eaten for 3 DAYS (by choice). Everything you know about dieting, and eating healthily is WRONG!!! Not your fault - blame Dr. Oz (I do!).

Follow this plan to lose fat - and keep it off

You MUST quit ALL carbs but, most crucially, grains and starchy veg.

Here's a list of what you need to eat to lose body fat: -

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (this is CRUCIAL; you MUST buy it as you'll be frying all your food in it, no other oil is permitted for cooking)
Eggs
Meat (preferably red, as it's the only way for humans - being omnivorous - to obtain iron and vitamin A)
If you know you're not intolerant, dairy, but make sure it's extremely high fat. DO NOT eat anything with a fat content of less than 30%
Olives
Guacamole (make sure it's sugar-free and made with olive oil (most is made with rapeseed, vegetable or sunflower oil (and sometimes a combination of all 3)
Oily fish (if buying tinned fish, ensure it's in (extra virgin) olive oil
Berries (berries have numerous health benefits and are the only fruit permitted)
Cocoa (100% cocoa powder, nothing added)
If you want sweetness, use stevia - DO NOT use artificial sweeteners; stevia is an Amazonian herb, 100% natural and has been shown to have beneficial effects on blood sugar levels.
Cinnamon - again this has been proven to help manage blood sugar fluctuations
Turmeric - promotes liver and gastrointestinal health
Only permitted oils are avocado, macadamia, olive and coconut.
True nuts may be eaten in moderation (no peanuts or cashews)

What NOT to eat: -

Grains (and that includes pseudo-grains such as buckwheat and quinoa)
Legumes (beans, peas, peanuts).

The number 1 rule with this way of eating is that if a substance is a known allergen (whether you're allergic/intolerant to it, or not)  you mustn't eat it.
Primary allergens include: -
Grains
Dairy (but this may be consumed if you aren't getting enough fat from other sources. Try to stick to non-cow sources as much as possible (e.g. for cheese eat mozzarella, feta, Roquefort and goats cheese)
Peanuts
Soya (especially important to avoid this as you're a lass as it has been linked to ovarian cancer and is renowned for causing thyroid issues)
Artificial sweeteners
Nightshades (tomatoes, peppers, chillies, physalis and tobacco (if you smoke, I reckon now'd be an excellent time to quit!))
Basically, if you know it can be listed as an allergen on food packaging, avoid it!

This way of eating is sustainable and the only way to lose the fat - and keep it off! I turned to it when I was 24 stone (336lb) and had type 2 diabetes. I now weigh 8 stone (112lb) and have gone from a 34/36 (US 30/32) to a 4/6 (US 0-2) in under 3 years. I was off my diabetes drugs within 3 months.

Finally, the major plus with this lifestyle is that you don't need to sweat your guts out at the gym, or pounding the pavement - in fact I strongly urge you not to! Stressing out your body is detrimental to your efforts as it causes muscle catabolism and fat storage; it also makes you exceedingly hungry and you're likely to make poor food choices.

Sorry to yell, but QUIT COUNTING CALORIES!!! It's futile! Count carb grams instead (I suggest you start with 75g per day of good carbs, and taper it down to less than 25, depending on how much flab you need/want to lose).

Premature wrinkle under my eye. Suggestions to help it?

Allie C

Hello. I am a young female (only 20 years old) and I've had many skin issues throughout my life. I was born with atopic dermatitis (similar to eczema) and just have pretty sensitive skin. Two winters ago I broke out with a rash under my right eye, which kept coming back. After a few months it finally calmed down, but now I still occasionally get a flare up or dry, flaky skin on the same spot.

I've noticed since I started getting this rash that a small line has formed under my eye that isn't as defined under the other eye. Since last October I've been using a Clinique under eye cream that isn't anti-aging, but just moisturizes and helps with dark circles.

My question is if anyone has any suggestions for a cream (or anything for that matter) that may help with the under eye wrinkle for someone who has sensitive skin.

Answer
I heard from dr oz that eating coconut oil helps and taking omega 3 pills or fish oil moisturizes your skin. From plenty of research I found out that sugar breaks done collagen so don't eat a lot of sugar, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink water, sleep 8 hours and exercise for 30 min a day. Also drinking and smoking causes premature aging and also sun exposure. So when you're out, always wear sunblock spf 30 or higher and spf sunglasses. I'm also 20 and I have this line forming too, I try to not worry too much about it but its noticeable. I have tried under eye creams for bags but didn't work as for the line, I haven't done a lot, I don't rub my eye too much or pull it when removing makeup. I have heard that using under eye creams makes them worse, and its only temporary, what eye creams really do is just plump up the skin so it makes the lines or wrinkles look less noticeable, I don't use under eye creams anymore. I use organic creams or oils, because of all the chemicals a lot of products have. We all need to feed our skin healthy ingredients and our body too. I suggest to stop using that under eye cream because it just plumps your skin, and it probably doesn't have benefits to improve your under the eye skin. As for the under eye cream suggestion, use something natural or organic that is not full of chemicals, I don't have an exact cream name because i still have not found mine=[[, But there is websites that can help with your search like makeupalley.com, vitacost.com, amazon.com, also ewg.org/skindeep/ they all have reviews of many eye creams. I hope this helps you and sorry if its too long. =]

Hi I am a male 23, having constantly cystic acne on my jaw, i suspect they are related to hormone imbalance, so my friend suggested me to take coconut oil to balance my hormone and also kill bad stuff in my body too. I am just wondering will that really work and how does the coconut oil help for male?

Cheers,

Answer
The Benefits of Coconut Oil for Men
Tom Servo, Yahoo Contributor Network

If you're an average guy, you probably have a bottle of vegetable oil or olive oil that you keep in your pantry for general cooking purposes, but have you ever considered using coconut oil instead? Did you even know you could? Don't be surprised if you haven't. For some reasons, coconut oil just doesn't seem to be as popular in the U.S. as other oils. You should really give it a shot, though. It can do amazing things for you.

Refined vs. Unrefined

Before you buy your first bottle of coconut oil, you need to know some of the important differences between refined and unrefined coconut oil. Most coconut oils you will find at any store are refined. If the oil is unrefined, it will say that it is or it will be called "virgin" or "extra virgin" coconut oil. Generally speaking, you want unrefined coconut oil because it is healthier. However, that's not to say you can't find a non-hydrogenised refined coconut oil; my advice is to keep a bottle of each in your kitchen for different uses.

Cooking

Coconut oil is an excellent cooking oil. Refined coconut oil is flavorless and odorless, which makes it an excellent choice for baking and sautéing. It won't overwhelm the taste of your dish and it won't make your food greasy like vegetable oil will. Virgin coconut oil is also great for cooking but it does have a very strong coconut smell and flavor. Be careful, though; coconut oil has a slightly lower smoke point than other cooking oils, such as olive, peanut and vegetable oil. Keep your temperature under 350 degrees F. to avoid smoking.

Weight Loss

If you're trying to get rid of your gut, coconut oil might be just the trick. In a study called, "Medium-Chain Triglycerides Increase Energy Expenditure and Decrease Adiposity in Overweight Men," researchers found that the medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA) found in coconut oil seem to play a significant role in fat loss for obese men. This is because your liver directly absorbs MCFA's and quickly converts them into energy rather than depositing them into your fat cells. Both refined and unrefined coconut oils contain MCFA's; just remember to stay away from hydrogenised and partially hydrogenised coconut oils to avoid the trans fats.

Personal Care

In addition to being a great food product, coconut oil can also be used on your skin and your hair. It is an excellent moisturizer and can be used as skin moisturizer or conditioner. I recommend applying a small amount to your face as a soothing aftershave, and to your hair after you wash it as a leave-in conditioner. You can also apply it to sunburn or anywhere you have dry skin.

I only listed a few of the uses and health benefits of coconut oil. Believe it or not, there are a lot more. If you start using coconut oil for cooking or improving your personal appearance and find that you like it, you should do some more research on it. You may find a slew of other uses for it that are right for you that you would have never even considered.

Unrefined or refined coconut oil?

Glamor Chi

Hi guys, I recently pursed Spectrum's refined coconut oil from Walmart to improve the health of my half natural half relaxed hair (I'm transitioning). I didn't see any unrefined coconut oil while I was there. Should I have gotten unrefined instead of refined? I know the "scientific" differences between the two but what are the actually benefits of either one.

Answer
UNREFINED! I know Whole Foods has it in the cooking oil area. Its about $8-$10 & is worth it if you're going to put the effort into your hair. The refined kind has been processed and you lose some of the benefits that you were getting the oil for in the first place. Also make sure you get the organic kind. I know spectrum has one for hair but if you get the general unrefined organic oil you can use it for other things too. Like your skin and you eat it if you're trying to lose weight. The unrefined gives you a multitude of benefits.

Thyme hair rinse
Put 7 heaped tablespoons of dried thyme into 2 cups of water and boil the mixture for 10 minutes. Your kitchen will smell heavenly! Strain the mixture and leave it to cool. Lean over a bowl and pour half of the solution onto clean, damp hair. Keep scooping it out of the bowl and re-applying until all your hair is well soaked. Don't rinse or wash out. Keep the other half of the solution for another treatment!

Rinses:
Rinse for blondes
Add a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice to a pint of water and use as a rinse after shampooing.
Rinse for brunettes and redheads
Add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a pint of water and use as a rinse after shampooing.
Orange musk rinse for shiny hair
Mix the juice of a fresh orange with 1 tablespoon of honey and 5 â 7 drops of sandalwood oil. Dilute with enough water to make a rinse â about a pint â and mix thoroughly. Use after shampoo and then rinse out.
Honey shine rinse
Mix 1 teaspoon of honey into 4 cups of warm water. Make sure it's well dissolved. Use as a rinse after shampooing and don't wash out. Dry as normal for a great shine!

How to apply Coconut Oil to your hair?

Summer

So I've heard coconut oil is really beneficial to your hair.. But how do I put it on? Like, before or after shower? Wet or dry? All of your hair? How much? THANKS in advance.

Answer
they say it does work, put coconut oil in and the next day rinse it out and then put it on again and then the next day rinse it out. That's what this lady told me to do. She said Indians do that and there hair grow faster.

Apply directly onto scalp massaging from roots to ends, leave on for at least 30 minutes before washing. For best results, leave on for as long as you can and apply at least three times a week.

For Deep Penetration: Apply directly onto scalp massaging from roots to ends before bed, leave on overnight. Shampoo and rinse well.

Coloring your hair: Apply a couple drops in your dye bottle mixing it well to protect your hair from getting damaged from chemical used.

Step 1: Rinse hair with warm water.

Step 2: Squeeze excess water from hair with a towel.

Step 3: Wet a towel lightly and warm it in a dryer for 10 minutes or soak a towel in hot water and ring out excess water.

Step 4: Apply a quarter-size amount of coconut oil to damp hair. Massage the oil into your scalp and then distribute oil down to the tips. If you have long hair, use a bit more coconut oil. You can use a wide-toothed comb to distribute the oil through your hair.

Step 5: Take the warm towel and wrap it around your head, making sure to get all of your hair covered. Leave it on for two hours. This will assure that the oil penetrates your hair. You can also apply the coconut oil to your hair before bed, and cover your head with a plastic shower cap.

Step 6: Wash hair with gentle shampoo.

Is coconut oil good for your hair?

rae

Im wondering what is good for my hair (damaged)

Answer
Yeah coconut milk is good for our hair. It makes your hair thick and healthy. I used it when I was still a kid and right now I don't need it anymore because I have a thick hair already.

*Home Remedy For Dry Hair

Flaxseed Oil

Probably the best home remedy for dry hair, flaxseed oil improves hair texture and prevents hair from becoming dry and brittle. Take as directed on the label.

Water

Salt water, soapy water, and heavily chlorinated water, like pool water, can be very damaging to your hair and cause it to be very dry. Limit your exposure to these harmful waters.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is a very effective home remedy for dry hair because it actually penetrates the hair shaft, lubricates it, and then seals it. Pour 1/2 to 1 cup of jojoba oil into a bowl.

Moisten your hair with water and then, with your fingers, gently massage the oil into your hair, starting at the roots and work your way out to the ends.

Now take an old towel (it might get oil stained) and put it in the dryer for a couple of minutes to warm it up. Wrap your hair with the warm towel and leave it ther for 1/2 to 1 hour. Then shampoo as normal.

Avocado And Bananas

This home remedy for dry hair is a bit messy, but it has been known to be a good one.Take a very ripe old banana and mash it up and mix it with a very ripe old avocado and then apply it throughout your hair.

Leave the mixture in your hair for about 20 minutes before thoroughly rinsing it out.

White Oak Bark Shampoo

Mix 2 tablespoons of white oak bark into 1 cup of water. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.

Strain the mixture and add 2 tablespoons of castile soap. Mix it up and then add 3 tablespoons of herbal soap, 1 teaspoon of honey, and 1 beaten egg.

Although this home remedy for dry hair is a little more complicated than others, it works wonders on dry course hair. Use it as a shampoo, and then rinse hair well with apple cider vinegar.

Beer

Beer can make your hair look shiny and healthy. After shampooing, towel dry your hair. Apply the beer to your hair with a spray bottle and then blow-dry.

Chamomile Shampoo

This home remedy for dry hair can actually replace your store-bought shampoo permanently. Pour 4 cups of boiling water over 5 tablespoons of chamomile flowers, cover the mixture, and let it set for about 30 minutes. Strain it, and then add 1/2 cup of castile soap flakes.

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is a great hair conditioner, and is an excellent home remedy for dry hair. Rub it throughout your hair and leave it in for about 30 minutes before rinsing it out real good.
