I mean, you heard about cats and dogs being given some oil.. like maybe coconut oil for nice shiny coat/hair.. and some believe for healthful benefits..
but what about rabbits?
I am having problems rushing my rabbit to a vet right now.. she's starting to get thinner, or so I think... vets here are really annoying because they like to treat dogs and cats rather than rabbits or anything cheaper :[
i read and heard about a sick rabbit given virgin coconut oil then, well, she was healed at the least..

I dont see any problem with giving it a try.
Some show rabbits are given corn oil for their coats.
You could also try mineral salt licks, vitamin drops, yogurt drops. All of these are treats that provide extra minerals.
I would just put a few drops on your rabbits pellet food and see how it goes.
Good Luck

Help! My dog sheds too much?

La De Dah!
I have two jack russell terriers and they shed year round. I love them to death but I just can't take the shedding anymore! The hair is everywhere... and I do mean everywhere.
They both sleep in my bed, so I wake up with hair in my ears, in my eyes, stuck to my skin. Hair is still stuck to the blankets even when I pull them out of the drier! There is hair on my furniture and in the carpet... if I sit down anywhere my clothes are covered. What's worse is that it floats. It doesn't matter if the dog can get there or not, the hairs will float and cling to anything - Tv stands, counter tops, picture frames... if dust can get there, so can the hair. I feel like I am cleaning constantly and it's driving me out of my mind.
They are four and six years old, so I would feel bad kicking the out of the bedroom now. There is absolutely no way to keep them off the furniture entirely - as I'm sure they would get on the sofa the minute I leave the house. Besides, like I said, the hair floats everywhere!
I don't have the time to brush them non-stop and they still shed even when I do brush them. What can I do to stop (or at least significantly slow) the shedding? Anything? Is there a medicine or fur treatment or something? (Please don't say "shave them") I love my dogs, so I wont put them outside or get rid of them. I just want them to stop shedding! Thanks in advance!
Answer
First off feed them a high quality dog food such as simply wild and try putting a little extra virgin wholistic coconut oil and nupro supplement mixed in their food once a day. Give them a bath once in a while with a protein base shampoo like ultra premium furminator and bio groom super coat conditioner and brush them at least once a day or weekly. This will help because this is what I do with my dog, cat and ferrets and none of them really shed that much and they look great. You and your dogs will benefit from this I promise please try it and stay with it because it works you can find these products at healthypets.com good luck ; )
