ap884ever

I am a mother about to have my baby! I heard something aout taking 3 tablespoons of coconut oil a day helps you have more energy and promote weight loss. Is this true? Have you had any experinces with it? if so, how much did you take a day, how didi you feel and how much weight did you loose in the amount of time? I am thinking about trying it but not sure! Thanks!

Answer
Coconut in the past was considered unhealthy. Recent studies show however, that cold-pressed coconut oil is in fact very healthy. It has many health benefits and one of them is weight loss. It is actually a very good source of energy, and that is why it can be used in salads or simply consumed as it is, to increase energy level. It also speeds up metabolism, thus the weight loss.

Does coconut oil really help with weight loss?

Has anybody tried or known of someone who actually lost a signifigant amount of weight by eating coconut oil? I would like to know if t really works. I am cutting calories and increasing my exercise to but I would like to get back into shape before spring classes start up again in mid January (about 10 pounds) I am not overweight I am 5'5 115 pounds but I have been slacking with exercise and notice I am not as muscular/toned as I was during the summer. Any good reasonable suggestions would also help. Thanks.

Answer
I have used coconut oil and know others who swear by it. Personally it did help suppress my appetite due to the high fat. Normally people who are doing low carb (Atkins) diets are the ones who benefit most since they are burning fat rather than carbs as their main fuel. I am not sure how well it would work if your not doing Atkins since the high fat along with carbs might actually cause you to gain weight.

Here is a website about coconut oil and all the benefits:

Hope this helps!

I should add the reason I don't use it often is because I really can't stand the taste and almost have to choke it down. If I could find one without the flavor I would use it more for cooking and such.
