coconut oil question?!?

Carly

The bottle says 100 percent pure but there is a description on the back that says refined from the meat of mature coconuts
Someone said : Ok, so here's the deal. If you think about it logically, the word "pure" means that it's not mixed with anything else. Like there's no other oils in there, no added colors or scents. The word refined means that they've done something to it. Probably heated it. Heat changes things. Like when you bake onions, they don't taste like onions anymore.Best is to buy things unrefined, no matter what you're gonna do with them.

so is it still good to use as a face moisturizer?!?

Answer
Refined coconut oil refers to coconut oil that has been bleached, and deodorized.
The oil is derived from dried coconut flesh

oil obtained from this has to be purified with bleaching clays because contaminants arise during the drying process
High heat is then used to deodorize the coconut oil to remove its distinctive odor and flavor. Sodium hydroxide is often added to prolong its shelf life.

you can of course still use this on your face, and will reap benefits
its just not as pure or beneficial as unrefined

have you used 100% virgin coconut oil on your hair?

I have heard that 100 virgin coconut oil is good for hair growth for black hair. If you have used it, did it work and how did you use it? Also where can it be purchased
thanks

Answer
you can use 100% (VCO) virgin coconut oil on your hair only if your hair is not proccesed: processed meaning it has been straightened, permed colored and etc. but if your hair is processed you can use hair treatment w/ (VCO) Virgin coconut oil.
If your hair is natural you can apply VCO with this simple steps. 1st. wash your hair then apply VCO evenly then cover your hair with shower cap leave on for 30 minutes. lastly put shampoo and rinse the oil out.

you can buy it here
