How do you get a nice tan?

Q. like when i go in the sun should i wear or not wear sun tan lotion or if i do, what degree and should i use spray tan??? lol!

Answer
Never use sun tan lotion, that defeats the purpose of the health benefits of the sun, not to mention the potential tan to be had.

I recommend any type of tanning oil, you can either go organic and use the oils you would buy for cooking, such as evoo, coconut oil, or you can buy the sprays which come in a very low spf, although they contain some extra chemicals.

Just remember, do not burn. It's hard to judge the time outside, which is why indoor tanning is so great.

Product/Natural substance with PH of 5.5 for skin cleansing?

Katherine

I'm looking for an organic product or natural substance with a PH of 5.5 (human skin is around 5.5 optimally) to wash my face and body with. I have acne and know that overly alkaline (most all cleansers and soaps) products can disrupt the acid barrier on the skin and cause problems. I also am aware of the toxins in conventional products that can harm your body's functioning and appearance over time. The problem is I don't know what product or substance to use. Lots of blogs and companies all claim for their technique or product to be PH balancing when they either have no idea what that means or is a lie. Thank you.

For your face - Oil Cleansing Method.
Your skin requires oil to clean-out pores and protect the skin, when you use soaps or washes they strip the skin of it's natural oils leaving your skin prone to damage, also your skin then over-produces oil to compensate which ends-up in extra oil clogging your pores. Oil cleansing method is literally using oils to cleanse the skin, the oil gets into pores to cleanse them and then you wipe away with your facecloth, any oil left in the skin is absorbed so it moisturises without clogging pores, keeping skin healthy. You can use various different oils and different mixes to suit your skins needs, although oils aren't going to match your skins pH your own skin would better be able to maintain this itself. Personally I use either grapeseed oil or coconut oil alone, but you can use various different oils and combinations, or you can also add essential oils for additional benefits to your skin.

For your face - Honey.
Another idea for your skin would be active honey - the pH can vary from 3.4 to 6.1 (if you want something more acidic both to match your skin add lemon, which will also help exfoliate and fade scaring - although limit this to a few times per week, daily it may be too harsh on skin) it's antibacterial and antiseptic so would be good at preventing acne, plus healing so help repair scars.

For your body...

In theory both the above options could be used on your body, but personally I'm not a fan of too much oil on the body and active honey is too expensive to use like this. Why use anything at all? You could try using dry-brushing which is using a dry brush to brush the surface of your skin to get rid of dead skin and dirt, then you shower or bath - dry-brushing maintains pH, means no use of soap that would dry-out skin, no harmful ingredients, and has benefits such as improving skin circulation.

I mean honestly, why look for store-bought products that could contain god knows what (learning to read ingredients on toiletries is an eye-opener) and may be unsuitable for your skin, when instead you could either make your own products or use simple options like these I mention above.
