We all know that coconut oil just goes hard and clamps up in cold temperatures. is there any way to stop this....like adding something to it or something???
PS: i just mixed up some coconut oil with baking soda to make a homemade toothpaste, and it just thickens when kept outside for sometime.
Answer
Even regular oil, like vegetable or olive oil, will clump us when left refrigerated or left outdoors in the cold. Since the texture of coconut oil is more similar to shortening, your coconut oil is even more prone to clumping or becoming solid. Sorry, there is nothing you can do to avoid the clumping if you keep it cold temperatures. In order to soften the mixture, put it near your campfire for 10 or 15 minutes.
