coconut oil benefits?

Halle S

hey guys if you have used coconut oil can you tell me something about the below things? thanks so much??

~Hair &skin
~tanning
~weight loss
~firming skin

thank you SO much!!! also, can you tell me how to take the oil (not the capsules) if you cook with it (instead of using oil/butter), does it effect the taste of what you are cooking with?

thank you guys!!!!

Answer
Coconut oil doesn't add much of a taste to food, but adds a dreamy, sweet smell. It's great for tropical dishes! However, it is mostly saturated fat, so should be used in moderation. Certainly it is not a weight loss supplement. In one serving there are 14g of fat, 12.5 of which are saturated! Olive oil or vegetable oil would be a healthier alternative.

As for hair and skin, it's great for both. I use it as a facial and body moisturizer once a week and it works wonders even on sensitive, dry skin like mine. As for firming skin, I have not seen any research, but most research on cosmetic issues like that are completely unreliable anyway. Having fat in your diet is good for your hair, but applying it straight to your hair will leave it greasy.

Tanning....well, I don't tan ( counterproductive to the skin health issues) so I can't say.
Hope that helped a little :)

What are the benefits of coconut oil?

.

How should it be used?

Answer
The health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer, dental care, and bone strength. These benefits of oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial and soothing properties
How to Use Coconut Oil: If you are using coconut oil for topical purposes, especially hair care, just melt the oil (if it is solid) by keeping the bottle in the sun or warm water. You can also take some coconut oil out and put it in a small bowl and heat the bowl over a flame (do not use microwave). Then take the oil on your palm and apply it to your hair. If you want to use it for internal consumption, simply replace butter or vegetable oils with coconut oil in your recipes. Remember, you need not switch to coconut oil completely, as you will miss the benefits of other oils and dairy products.

Coconut oil benefits on hair.............?

Q. Is coconut oil good to stop hair fall ans simulate hair follicle and promote hair growth.. and does it also makes the hair condition, nourish, shine, silky, smooth.. and good.?????????

Answer
Even better is a "hair superfood" combination of Aloe Vera and Organic Coconut Oil applied directly to the hair, this will absorb into and nourish hair better than anything! This is an incredibly effective alternative to commercial hair care products, which are quick fixes that merely coat the hair shaft but actually are the biggest cause of dry, dull hair over time, due to the mainly artificial chemical ingredients they contain.

Aloe Vera - is one of Nature's best ultra-moisturizers. Not only does it super-moisturize your hair but it has potent anti-oxidants that help keep your hair healthy.

Coconut oil is a rare Medium Chain Fatty Acid whose structure most closely duplicates the natural oils found in human hair. It is rich in components that keep hair strong, vitalized, nourished and protected. It actually penetrates deep into the hair shaft instantly, one of the very few substances on Earth that can do this. It has been used for thousands of years for hair and skin care by people in tropical regions like India and Polynesia where coconuts grow in abundance.

Together they form a truly Magic Combination that is amazing for Beautiful, Healthy Hair!

Is spectrum organic refined coconut oil good for skin and hair?

Q. I bought it today and it didn't smell like anything. So far I put it on my skin and my skin feels smoothe. I tasted the coconut oil but I personally didn't like the taste. Is this brand of coconut oil good?

Answer
Yes, it is good for your skin and hair. However, it is refined so it has additives. If you want the real benefits of coconut oil, try pure or virgin coconut oil. It is more expensive, but it hasn't been robbed of its nutrients.

Refined Coconut Oil differs from pure coconut oil in many respects. First, you won’t find any scent (typical coconut scent) or taste of coconut in it, unlike in pure coconut oil. This deodorization is deliberately done since although many may like the scent of coconut in their cooking oil, there are many who don’t. Being refined, it is certainly more hygienic than the crude coconut oil, but not that beneficial from the point of view of health. It is left with almost no proteins or minerals. Its shelf life is longer than that of crude or pure coconut oil.
