Coconut oil and weight loss?

Candace

Im a teenager and have been reading alot that it isn't very good to be SUPER picky on calories during your teen years or it could hurt your growth. I want to model so I can have money for a horse. I read somewhere that if you have three tablespoons of coconut oil a day it can help you loose weight? Is this myth or truth? If its true I'll add it to my schedule, my mom loves coconut oil for her skin and for her cooking. So we have tons of it!

Answer
Your kiddin me right!!! Coconut oil. I have heard it is good for the hair..yeah...but for losing weight...haha that is downright a myth.

Coconut oil is all saturated fat. WHich is bad for you..period!!!
So If I were you I stop looking for shortcuts and stick to what works. That is the combination of a healthy diet and good exercise at least 4 to 5 times a week for 30min least. You wanna model you say. I assume that you are not fat to begin with then. SO why do you wanna lose weight. THe industry is changing in case if you have not heard. THey do not take in anorexic looking models no more. Paris was the first to start doing that and it is the fashion capital of the world.

You are growing like you said, so eat lots of fruits and vegetables and lean meats. That will not only improve your health but your complexion and radiance of your skin. GOod Luck on getting your horse!!

Coconut oil for my hair?

Kdke

is it safe to use on your hair? i have bleach blonde hair (its all natural, ive never dyed/high lighted my hair).. and its pretty long, it comes down right below my boobs. i heard coconut oil is really good for make your hair shiny & soft as well as helping it grow. im trying to grow my hair out reallllly long. i havent used heat on it at all this summer! has anyone tried this?! i have the coconut oil already, so how should i use it ? before bed, in the shower, after shower? help please! if youve tried it let me know how it works & what its good for (: thanks!

Answer
Your hair is virgin, bleached blonde hair NATURAL, it should ALREADY BE SHINY & healthy silky, shiny, soft & smooth LIKE MY HAIR. I do not put oil on my hair. My grandma used coconut oil on hers, only to prevent lice from getting in her head, in Asia, many people do, it's normal, but she makes her own oil Soft shiny hair comes from: Good genes. Good hair care. You get more benefits eating fresh coconuts, drink the juice that came with it, when you cracked open a coconut, but hair oil only last on your hair until you wash them off again.
Washing less often, builds the natural oil your hair needs, to get them smoother, shinier, silkier, softer. Man-made products are just temporary, until you wash them again, and at the same time washing off the natural oil your hair NEEDS.

There are more hair oil on the shelf now, than 30-40 years ago, and it's because it is a billion dollar business! There are more hair loss now, too, than 30-40 years ago!

There are many hair oil brand out there, man-made oil, none is better than the other. It can very well even harm your hair, even causes hair loss, since you don't know exactly what kind of oil they say it is. In the lab, they add other ingredients that can prevent from spoiling.
Read the labels if they state that it contains like for fish oil supplements: "one or more of the following: Cod, English Whiting, Shark."

It does NOT make hair grow, it does not make hair thicker, it does help keep the hair moisturized, until you wash them again, that's about all it does, they're not glue to fix split ends, prevent, or reverse the damaged hair. Anything else they say on the label, it is to attract your attention. It is a billion dollar business and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse'.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Maharashtra is ready to go on record saying that most manufacturers in the Rs 3,000-crore Indian cosmetics industry are rampantly misleading consumers with tall claims. This affliction goes beyond hair oils. FDA has found that from face creams to soaps and other items of personal care, cosmetics companies are taking the general public for a ride. The industry, of course, sees the whole issue differently.

which is better to use 100% organic virgin coconut oil or 100% organic virgin olive oil for hair loss??

JC

it is ok if i will use coconut oil or olive oil with minoxidil 5% ??
my hair got thin it started last last yr when i was 17 yrs old.. i think it is because of gel because gels can make dandruff but now i already stop using it.. it takes 5 yrs for that process.. so plss give me some suggestion because i want to get back all my hairs.. i'm very sad now.... :( thanks for understanding me..

Answer
My suggestion would be to take flax seed oil daily to treat yourself from the inside out. Your hair needs a constant flow of nutrients via blood to hair follicles. Add a bit of zinc too. I snack on pumpkin seeds for my fatty acids and zinc.

Eat a healthy diet eliminating sugar, caffeine and alcohol since they tend to dry the skin and hair. Eliminate stress from your life.

Use natural shampoos without all the chemicals in them. Trader Joe sells some great ones inexpensively.

Treat your hair with extra virgin olive oil 2 or 3 times a week. Sleep with it overnight.

It won't happen overnight, but, you'll see improvement with time.

Avoid the chemicals sold to promote hair growth. They are very bad for you. Stay away from bleaching, heavy gels or mousses. Avoid styling tools like curlers and hair dryers.

â¥Coconut oil?

I'm here t

What does it do? How come there's so many kind of oils for your skin to use? Like Almond oil, Olive oil, Coconut oil, Tea tree oil, ect.......

But what does Coconut oil do for your skin? Where can I find it?

Answer
Coconut oil is excellent as a skin moisturiser. A study shows that extra virgin coconut oil is as effective and safe as mineral oil when used as a moisturiser, with absence of adverse reactions [6].

Coconut oil can also help in healing Keratosis pilaris by moisturising the effected area. The coconut oil should be applied in the shower, and may cause the KP bumps to disappear.

In India, coconut oil is used as an oil for styling hair.

-------------------------------------------

For skincare, using coconut oil as you would any lotion is ideal. It prevents destructive free-radical formation. It can help to keep the skin from developing liver spots and other blemishes caused by aging and overexposure to sunlight. It helps to prevent sagging and wrinkling by keeping connective tissues strong and supple. The oil is absorbed into the skin and into the cell structure of the connective tissues, limiting the damage excessive sun exposure can cause.

Coconut oil will not only bring temporary relief to the skin, but it will aid in healing and repairing. It will have lasting benefits, unlike most lotions. It can help bring back a youthful appearance. Coconut oil can aid in removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, making the skin smoother. The skin becomes more evenly textured with a healthy "shine". And coconut oil will penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and strengthen the underlying tissues.

To obtain all of coconut oil's health and weight loss benefits, 30 mls per day is recommended for adults.
