Breathing hard and Coconut oil?

arampetr

Hi I want to know if coconut oil helps against high blood pressure and breathing hard problems. My breathing is a bit hard and I read some articles which say that coconut oil helps to increase metabolism and relaxes breathing. Is this true? Is coconut oil good for people? will it aid me in breathing less deep and more relaxed?
No I want to use it in a liquid form as oil. No pills. And I was wondering if it will help me in better breathing. Anyone using it please let me know what experience you had with it so far. If you have not used coconut oil please do not write anything here, because I want help from people who have some experience please.

Answer
I wouldn't doubt it.
Burt's Bess (one of my favorite product lines) has a foot cream made from coconut oil that works so nice, and it has sort of a 'vick's vapo rub' effect too... i love it.
Anyway, are you talking about using it in the pill form or what? how are you planning to use it so that it provides all the benefits that you're taking about?

Raw coconut oil to build up my horses topline?

politicall

I've posted a question about putting weight on my mare which shes lost due to the extreme heat in my area (says my vet). I'm feeding her beet pulp and safe choice. She's coming along pretty nicely, filling in around her ribs and hip bones. She almost looks healthy except for her topline. I'm doing slow hill work and trotting over poles with her, of course, but I've been reading up on other ways that might help. I read that feeding raw coconut oil will go straight to a horses topline. Anyone heard of this or used it? True or wives tale? Thanks!

Answer
Going off what I've found on google it's not ideal. It is a fast energy fat that is burned quickly. Therefor I don't see any benefits in adding this to feeds as it will lend itself to "hyper" energy and will not aid in weight gain. (See attached link).

You can feed a high fat content diet to add weight but only exercise will truly build the top line. Keep going with your trotting and hill work. You may also want to add some electrolytes to your horses diet to replace what the sweat is taking out.

I ALWAYS feed my guys rice bran, this way you add weight and not fizz. For my hard keeper mare I also add "Equisoy". It's a supplement which will also add additional weight but not hot behaviour.
This has really helped build my mare up as she had a poor top line also.

Coconut oil is one of the most stable oils you can buy. It does not turn rancid easily. It does not attack your arteries. In fact, coconut oil was one of the foods Weston Price studied in his journeys. He discovered that the coconut was considered, by the local populations, a medicine food. He found that those civilizations that consumed coconut regularly had no knowledge of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, and diabetes.

Let’s take a look at the healing properties of coconut oil:

Coconut oil is antiviral, antifungal (kills yeast too) and antibacterial. It attacks and kills viruses that have a lipid (fatty) coating, such as herpes, HIV, hepatitis C, the flu, and mononucleosis. It kills the bacteria that cause pneumonia, sore throats, dental cavities, urinary tract infections, meningitis, gonorrhea, food poisoning, pneumonia, and many, many more bacterial infections. It kills the fungus/yeast infections that cause candida, ringworm, athletes foot, thrush, jock itch, diaper rash and more.
Coconut oil is called the "low fat" fat. It actually acts like a carbohydrate in that it is quickly broken down in the liver and used as quick energy. It is NOT stored like other fats. It boosts one’s energy and endurance. Many athletes use it blended into their drinks. It also supports thyroid function and increases your metabolism (great if you want to lose weight).
Coconut oil improves digestion and absorption of fat soluble vitamins, minerals (especially calcium and magnesium), and amino acids. It improves the body’s use of blood glucose and improves insulin secretion and absorption (great for type II diabetes). In fact, many diabetics (type I and type II) use it to reduce their symptoms. One’s risk of diabetes decreases with regular use of coconuts and coconut oil. And as we already mentioned, cooking with coconut oil does not create any harmful byproducts.
Coconut oil helps the body heal and repair faster. It aids and supports immune function, protecting us from a variety of cancers.
Coconut oil, contrary to much hubbub, is good for your heart. It keeps our blood platelets from sticking together (and causing dangerous clots). Regular users of coconut oils have a much lower chance of atherosclerosis (clogging of the arteries), arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), and strokes. Coconut oil can lower your blood pressure.
Coconut oil is a natural antioxidant. It protects the body from free radical damage and prevents premature aging and degenerative diseases.
Finally, coconut oil is the best massage oil on the planet. What it does to your skin, you simply have to witness. It forms a barrier against infections, softens and moisturizes your skin, and prevents wrinkling, sagging, and age spots. It promotes healthy hair and complexion, protects from any damaging UV rays. (It is used in Ron Salley’s products.)

How should I take coconut oil?

Toni_Baby

Answer
How much coconut oil should you take ?

Researchers state that the optimal amount for an adult is between 3 and 4 tablespoons per day. This equates to the amount of medium chain fatty acids a nursing child would consume in one day from mother's milk. It is best to use coconut oil three times a day at meal times. We recommend that you begin with a smaller amount and build up to the recommended dosage if necessary.
