ARMOUR LARD!! DAD VS DAUGHTER?

Gen

ok so my dad is making a dish tonight for dinner and he is putting Armour brand lard....i told him that i refuse to eat it because i dont eat fat from animals,,especially fat that comes from piggies!! hahahaha He keeps insisting that this lard is nothing different from butter. He is telling me that it comes from natural products such as cotton??, vegatables, as so on. i totally laughed when he said that....but hey he's trying.

so my dad told me to post this question on yahoo answers jajajajaja so the question is....is armour brand lard really pig fat....or does it come from natural products,,,such as cotton, and veggies,,,like my dad is trying to pull.....jajajajajajaj i look forward to your answers,,

Answer
First of you are right and your dad is also right. How can that be??
1. Lard is a combination of beef fat and pork fat. Primarily beef fat, pork fat is added for texture. Some times bacon is added for flavor.
2. The butter is derived from milk, so it is also animal fat. Chemically, butter fat is same as lard..they have same profile for Cholesterol and saturated fat.
3. As we became more aware of health, cholesterol had to go. So, they hydrogenated cottonseed oil to produce first vegetable shortening as a substitute for Lard. Later on, other oils were added specially peanut oil and coconut oil. Most of the vegetable shortening produced today use soybean oil
4. There is one problem with your assumption and your dads assumption. Vegetable shortening is all tarns-fat, so it is worse than Lard for health. For health, lard is better than vegetable shortening.
In 2007, many companies are trying to make vegetable shortening with partial hydrogenation or reducing the trans-fats
Both you and your dad are right?

Organix Coconut Milk Line vs. Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy?

lov869

Hey guys! I straighten my hair a lot and I want something to keep it straight (supposedly the Brazilian keratin therapy) but also one that repairs my split ends etc (supposedly coconut milk). Which one should I get? Iâve heard that the Brazilian keratin therapy line doesnât work to well. I would get the full line for the Brazilian Keratin Therapy but if I got the coconut oil line I donât know what I would need. I would like a deep conditioner, something to repair my hair, shampoo and conditioner, but do I need the styling cream? I mean I donât really blow dry my hair and I very very rarely curl it I normally straighten it. If itâs possible which one of these two lines would make my hair prettier when itâs natural because I HATE it naturally. It is a little wavy, poofy, frizzy, but part straight, and silky, and shiny. Please help! Give exact product names and tell me what you think of the products! And also how much would each line cost approximately? Thanks! : )

Answer
Hi! So I had tried the Organix Brazilian keratin Therapy. Since I have thinck, curly, frizzy hair, it didn't work! ): I did not try the other line by Organix, but I did some research to help you out:)
So, the Coconut Milk Line is pretty different from the Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy. The Therapy one is suppossed to smooth your hair and get rid of frizz, and make it easier to straighten. The Coconut Milk Line is supposed to restore curly, frizzy, damaged hair and make it easier to add roducts and straighten. Supposedly, most customers are pretty happy with that ine. Personally, I would try he coconut because the other one didn't work that well on a lot of people, inclding me, unless you have thin, slightly wavy hair. I have the Brazilian keratin Therapy shampoo, conditioner, and actual treatment- not that great. They are cheap products so it doesn't hurt to try it on your hair. Here's a website about a coconut milk line with reviews (Scroll down to the bottom):

Hope this helped!!! Tell me what you chose and how the results end up :))

Raw milk butter vs raw coconut oil (& any where in the US manufactures raw coconut oil?)?

Jack Bent

Which is better the butter or the coconut oil for cooking? Vegetable oils aren't stable at high temperatures.

Butter can be made locally but raw milk has a rare risk of TB.
Coconut oil seems to be imported from the Philippines BUT imported goods might be irradiated thus potentially increasing your cancer risk over your life with all the other crap people do.

The only US based raw coconut oil I can find is Island Harvest in Kailua, Hawaii but once again it'd have to be flown in and mailed and may go under irradiation (federal employees were complaining of irradiation effects but there's was super high - general mail may be less but I'm not ready to just live in lala land and blow it off and get what I deserve when it's time to retire and collect my pension) I guess butter is the best choice.
Thanks but no I don't want to move to hawaii just yet, especially if there was an economic collapse. During 911, I was on message boards and they felt trapped out there. They import a big chunk of their foods and goods too. Very expensive. But sheetafack soooo beautiful. Plus they have little scorpians -_-

Answer
so what is it that you want here? I'm confused
