What can I do with Coconut Milk?

RogerFeder

What can I do with it? I'm doing a keto diet right now, I need to lose like 10 pounds, currently 160, 5'10.
I was wondering if I could like marinate chicken breast with coconut milk and bake it? I don't really marinate my chicken breast, I normally just bake it plain. Can I use the milk for making scramble eggs? How about coconut oil? Can I use that for my salad and stuff? Thanks!

Answer
try this yummy filipino dessert:

Maja Blanca (Coconut Cake)

1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar/maple syrup
1/4 cup water
2 cups coconut milk
1 can pineapple or corn kernels (i prefer corn kernels)

Mix cornstarch and sugar in a bowl. Add water and coconut. In a saucepan, bring mixture to a boil and stirring constantly. When misture is starting to thicken, pour in the corn kernels. Boil for 5 minutes, until the starch is cooked. Pour into a cake pan (or any bowl with smooth sides) and let cool.

Uhmm this is really yummy!!!!

What to eat on a Keto diet?

Kenny

Started yesterday.. am 175 pounds and 17 years old.

All I've been eating is Turkey, Eggs, Tunafish, Mayo with eggs or tuna, only drinking water, had 2 hot dogs today (not sure if that ruined it), Ham and Yogurt..

What cheese is alright to eat on this diet?
Can I still have veggies on this diet? Not sure if veggies have a lot of carbs..

I have a bad bad taste in mouth and stomach feels weird-ish.. not sure if that's good or bad though..
or if I'm in keto yet...
- Also have been having coffee.. with cream only though. No sugar..

Answer
You really need to invest some times studying ketogenic diets before you try that. You are not eating a ketogenic diet. A keto diet is very moderate protein, HIGH FAT -- MOSTLY FAT. What you listed is too much lean protein. That's low-carb but it's not ketogenic. And it'll probably take much more than two days to get into ketosis even when you're doing it right.

The trick is to consume fat without consuming too much protein. Shoot for no more than maybe 75 - 100 grams of protein a day, and nearly all the rest being fat. Some things to eat -- coconut oil and coconut butter, cream cheese, cream, sour cream, butter, plentiful use of olive oil, macadamia nuts, avocados, olives, and fatty cuts of meat (but not too much, or you'll get too much protein). Bacon and sausage are good for example. Eggs are great but it's the yolk not the whites that you really want. Some people will scramble up say 3 eggs but throw out the whites of two.

Actually see link below, that's an excellent article.
