How to help my dog's ulcer heal? Please Help!?

Q. So I asked this question a few days ago: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvQ1id8vyul8XZA2_Jq.UNPsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120804154006AAh0x2T

Went in for a recheck today. And her ulcer is healing and is much better. And her deeper layers of her cornea are healing but her outer layers aren't . She is going in again in one week. If it's not healed by then she is getting sugery and her lids stitched shut. He's going to make cuts in her eye. (For a few weeks or so I am guesing.) This is better news than before however, because he said he might send her to a specalist for grafts.

So my question: Why isn't it healing? And are there any other ways to help it heal? She's just on her antibiotic and dialator now she's not on the blood serum anymore.
*He is going to make cuts in her eyes for the surgery and then stitch her lids shut for a few weeks.

Answer
You can try two things that are completely safe and non toxic, but most of the medical community will say has no effect because they concentrate on approved meds.

Both of these are natural:

Extra virgin organic coconut oil added to the food. I'd do a tablespoon. And Serrapeptase enzyme.

If anything, it will greatly help recovery, if not miraculously help the condition before surgery.

Don't take my word for it. Google it and research yourself. I'll even help you get started, and NO, I'm not here to sell anything or be a vet. I've just found this stuff out by myself when I was stuck in Holland as an American with their crappy health systems and insurances that weren't helping me! And my American dogs were here with me and we ALL have benefited.

So, take it if you will, and good luck to you: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-1115-SERRAPEPTASE.aspx?activeIngredientId=1115&activeIngredientName=SERRAPEPTASE

Coconut oil for animals you can search for yourself.

Good luck for you and your dog! I really feel for you and hope this has helped, or will help!

What is the best way to prevent breast cancer?

Q. (1 in 8 US women will have breast cancer; 1 in 24 Philippine women. Is it what they do eat - or what they don't eat ... or .... ?)

Answer
One clue to decreasing the risk of breast cancer is using virgin coconut oil for food. The Philippine women who move to the USA or to urban centers in the Philippines show as high of rates of breast cancer as American women - ruling out a genetic factor. But it is not possible at present to say if there is something in industrialized foods that actually causes increased incidence of breast cancer. Raloxifene actually causes a relatively minor reduction in breast cancer incidence, and though it was touted to have less side effects than Tamoxifene, these were not statistically significant - making it a profit-oriented hype campaign from the pharmaceutical industry much more than a serious medical breakthrough supported by legitimate scientific research. The FDA approved it because it's true, that it is therapeutically effective - but the risk-benefit advantage is not at all obvious.

Answer
My herbalist sent me this info on coconut oil. Don't want to print her name to protect her privacy. There's a book mentioned that is all about coconut oil and its benefits. I would suggest getting that book for more info.

Benefits of Coconut Oil - Quick Read Version

This is a “quick-read” list of the benefits of coconut oil. This information is taken directly from “The Coconut Oil Miracle” by Bruce Fife, C.N., N.D. (2004).

Even though the items listed here may seem too good to be true, try using coconut oil for 6 months and see what happens. You will be amazed at what it does for you, however, like any other food or supplement, it is not a cure-all. Use common sense when it comes to medical issues and don’t neglect taking your supplements just because you are using coconut oil.

The following is a list of benefits:

Coconut oil is:
* antibacterial
* antiviral
* antifungal
* antiprotozoal
* antimicrobial
*48% Lauric Acid, 7% capric acid, 8% caprylic acid, 5% caproic acid - all antimicrobial acids
Microorganisms killed by Lauric Acid include 15 viruses and 9 bacteria, read the detailed information
version for that list
*resistant to free radical formation

Research and clinical observation has shown MCFAs (Medium Chain Fatty Acids), which are highly concentrated in coconut oil, may prevent a wide variety of diseases. These are listed below.

Coconut oil helps heal:
*bacteria and viruses that cause flu, herpes, bladder infections, gum disease & more
*heart disease
*yeast and fungus
*atherosclerosis and stroke
*chronic infection
*parasites
*dental issues
*food poisoning
*blood sugar symptoms (hypoglycemia and diabetes related)
*obesity, which contributes to 12 other conditions, see detailed version for list
*energy levels (boosts metabolism from 4-24 hours, this increases energy and vitality because boosted
metabolism rate protects from illness
*thyroid function
*connective tissue (supporting framework of body)
*cracked, bleeding, dry, flaky, thickly calloused skin
*staph, strep (see detailed version)
*blood blisters
*hemorrhoids
*psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis
*acne/pimples
*sunburn
*keloid scars
*burns
*wounds
*ulcers
*skin fungus and infections
*lice
*kidney stones

*pancreatitis
*malabsorption syndrome (digestive issues)
*cystic fibrosis
*ulcers, Crohns, colitis
*chronic fatigue
*enlarged prostate
*gallbladder disease
*dandruff

Coconut oil does the following:
*revs metabolism up even more than protein, increasing thermogenesis
*lowers LDL and increases HDL cholesterol
*does not contribute to blood platelet stickiness (which leads to blood clots)
*resists free radicals and acts like an antioxidant
*prohibits germs from developing a resistance to it, capable of defeating even super-germs
*does not raise blood sugar
*contains most concentrated natural source of MCFA (medium-chain fatty acid) available -
see detailed version for explanation of MCFA
*promotes younger looking skin
*can be used as skin lotion, hair conditioner and lip balm
*prevents skins damage from sun exposure
*helps prevent sagging and wrinkling skin
*aids in removal of dead skin on outer surface and dead skin build up
*strengthens underlying tissue
*does not leave greasy film unless too much is applied
*softens skin
*protects skin from germs
*speeds wound healing
*reduces inflammation inside and outside of body - read the conditions and diseases associated
with inflammation in detailed version
*supports development of strong bones and teeth
*protects against osteoporosis
*protects against cancer (see detailed version)
*prevents tooth decay
*reduces epileptic seizure
*protects against kidney disease and bladder infections
*prevents liver disorders
*kills bacteria that causes pneumonia, earache, throat infection, cavities, food poisoning and
urinary tract infections, meningitis, gonorrhea
*kills fungi and yeast that cause candida, jock itch, ringworm, athletes foot, thrust and diaper rash
*expels or kills tapeworms, lice, giardia and other parasites
*improves nutrition in mother’s milk
*does not require bile or pancreatic enzymes to be digested, helpful to those with digestive issues and
removed gall bladders
*prevents free radicals in the liver and can help prevent alcohol induced liver injury, rejuvenates
diseased tissue

Do i Have to wash out the olive oil?

Iam Cherry

If i put in olive oil in my hair, do i have to wash it out or could i just leave it n there?

Answer
Leave the olive oil in your hair for as long as you like, I recommend a few hours to a day. to get the best benefits of the oil put a warm towel or cap on your head and process it with a hair dryer for about 30 mins.

You do need to wash it out, gently mist your hair with water, Do not saturate it and then massage a gentle shampoo into your scalp and hair,

EDIT:

Olive oil treatments are good for hair, medical experiments have shown that Avocado, Coconut and Olive Oils penetrate the hair adding proteins and strenthening the hair.

The person above me who says it does nothing, knows nothing. Research around the net, it's very good for you

leave for 30 secs- min then rinse with warm to cold water, if hair is still oily shampoo again and follow with a conditioner.

benefits of coconut oil???

greatachie

What are considered to be the benefits of coconut oil in our skin??

Answer
(m)

Coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, which is known for being anti-viral, antibacterial and anti-fungal. Coconut oil is also being used by thyroid sufferers to increase body metabolism, and to lose weight. Virgin coconut oil is also used for making natural soaps and other health products, as it is one of the healthiest things one can put on their skin.

At one time coconut oil received negative press in the US because of its high level of saturated fat. However, modern research has shown that not all saturated fats are alike and that the fatty acids in coconut oil, the medium chain triglycerides, do not raise serum cholesterol or contribute to heart disease, but are in fact very healthy. Also, some negative studies done on coconut oil in the past was done on hydrogenated coconut oil, which has been altered from its original form. Other studies have clearly shown that traditional Asian cultures that eat significant amounts of coconut in their diet do not suffer from modern diseases seen in western cultures that promote a low-fat diet.

Much research on the nutritional and medicinal benefits on coconut oil has surfaced in recent years. Much of that research has been done by Dr. Mary Enig. Dr. Enig has classified coconuts as a "functional food," which provides health benefits over and beyond the basic nutrients. She has specifically identified lauric acid as a key ingredient in coconut products:

"Approximately 50% of the fatty acids in coconut fat are lauric acid. Lauric acid is a medium chain fatty acid, which has the additional beneficial function of being formed into monolaurin in the human or animal body. Monolaurin is the anti-viral, antibacterial, and antiprotozoal monoglyceride used by the human or animal to destroy lipid coated viruses such as HIV, herpes, cytomegalovirus, influenza, various pathogenic bacteria including listeria monocytogenes and heliobacter pylori, and protozoa such as giardia lamblia. Some studies have also shown some antimicrobial effects of the free lauric acid."

As a "functional food," coconut oil is now being recognized by the medical community as a powerful tool against immune diseases. Several studies have been done on its effectiveness, and much research is currently being done on the incredible nutritional value of pure coconut oil. What are your opinions on coconut oil?

I have read in depth about coconut oil and have some of it, but I still would love to know any facts or other benifits of this oil. It would also be appreciated if you could tell me about any good or bad experiences you have had with this oil.

Answer
The health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer, dental care, and bone strength. These benefits of coconut oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, soothing, etc.
