Coconut oil is the only oil that can penetrate into your scalp, I tried using coconut butter and it made my hair so sticky and stinky. I suggest you get coconut oil. The best type of coconut oil to get is Extra Virgin Coconut Oil or you can get Organic Virgin Coconut oil, but extra virgin coconut oil is best for your hair and/or your skin because its hardly processed meaning they hardly put chemicals, they might just add a little tiny bit to keep it fresh but otherwise it is almost chemical free. You can buy coconut oil from amazon.com, Vitamin Shoppe, & organic supermarkets.

Can I use coconut oil instead of butter for pound cake mix?!?

I have the box pound cake mix and I have very little butter. The recipe calls for 1/2 a stick, could I substitute it for coconut oil?

Yes you can.
I might give your pound cake a coconut flavor. A mild flavor but it might be noticeable.
You can use the butter you have and add enough coconut oil, in the firm state, to make up the difference. Or you could use all coconut oil and save the butter for another use.
If you want to enhance the coconut flavor add a bit of coconut extract or process some coconut until it is fine and stir some into the batter.
