Is coconut oil along with sugar a good exfoliating scrub?

supernova

as i can't afford olive oil, is it okay if i use coconut oil as a makeshift.
i heard it 's good for the skin too. if yes, how can i apply it on my body?

Answer
Any oil is great - just try to avoid the oils that are chemically processed. Coconut oil is pressed, not processed, so it doesn't contain any chemical residues from processing. And, it's nutritious, what is dermally absorbed is used by your body as food.

Yes, any oil and sugar is a great exfoliant, try some brown sugar, the crystals aren't quite so big so there's less risk of scratching too deep. Pop a little vanilla extract in for a great smell while you're using it ;o)

I use scrubs on my body all the time. Make your mix, whatever it may be, put it in a plastic container and take to the shower with you.

Before you wash, put some of your scrub on your hand and washcloth, and just rub all over your body. Don't get your scrub into your 'girl area', if it doesn't all rinse out of there, you can suffer with scratching from the abrasive residue. Happened to me, not fun :o(

Smash a banna in one time and see what you think...

can you substitute coconut oil hen making a lip scrub?

Shenia

I want to make a lip scrub but I don't have any coconut oil and i probably have enough olive oil to fill half a baby spoon. I do, however have vanilla and lemon extracts. My brown sugar is hard and stuck together in giant chunks and I have like 10 minutes before I have to leave. I also have no honey. So would I have to go shopping or do I have ingrediants to make a one-time lip scrub?

Answer
From the lip scrubs ive used which was from 'Body Shop' the main ingredient was sugar, one really good exfoliate id recommend is lemon juice and sugar...
Use about 2 teaspoon of lemon juice and mix sugar into it until its became abit thicker, its really good!or use the coconut oil, its good for your skin and i think itll work too! hope this helps
so if you manage to get that brown sugar out i guess you could use that :)
