Which is better.. beauty wise?
I'm currently drinking a tsp of EVOO a day, using it to take off my makeup, and rubbing it into my skin after my shower.. I notice the olive oil makes my hands dry though. I have eczema, and was really hoping that the olive oil would work out.
Is coconut any better for my skin and hair? Should you drink a bit of this every day as well?
Answer
Olive oil is beneficial because it has vit E. However, some findings suggest that vitamin e oils have been associated with allergic reactions such as eczema and that you should not use these products if you have sensitive skin. (http://www. livestrong. com/ tocopherols/)
Vitamin e has several forms (alpha, delta, gamma). More than likely if you have purchased the average suppliment, you have the alpha.
"There is growing evidence that it is necessary to use all forms to get the most benefit out of vitamin E, and it may even be harmful to use a plain alpha tocopherol since it could displace some of the more beneficial gamma tocopherols in the diet.
"Increasing numbers of good multivitamins are including vitamin E in the mixed tocopherol form so that separate supplementation is not necessary in most cases.

Coconut Oil vs. Olive Oil for anti-wrinkle/ anti aging?
Katie Holm
I used extra virgin olive oil before discovering coconut oil. I heard both are great for anti aging. I prefer coconut oil cos of its good smell.
I would like to know which one is the best for anti-wrinkle/ anti aging for skin? Extra virgin olive oil or pure coconut oil? as I only want to use one.
Thanks :)
Answer
Just applying oil to skin is going to do little or anything to prevent aging or wrinkles. The trick is in how you apply oil to skin.
A main cause of skin aging, wrinkles and lines is weakening of facial muscles with age. Massage with oils exercises/conditions face muscles and reverses the weakening. To avoid skin pulling, first tighten by opening mouth 3/4"and pulling lips firmly back against teeth. Do forward and back quite firm massage (not circular) using tips and front fingers and sometimes palms. For quickest results do 15/20 min. daily massaging. In as little as 4 or 5 days skin will look firmer, tighter, smoother, revitalized and rejuvenated. If you need more massaging information please contact me. "Thank you Mukunda! I've been massaging my whole face with olive oil for about one week now. My neck, face and my skin are much tighter and my skin feels so soft and moist ALL DAY! And my upper lip wrinkles(smoker's lips) are 70% gone. Forehead lines. What forehead lines?? They're 50% gone!
