The problem is the cause of the rash.
Coconut oil isn't poison, and it's probably not going to make anything worse - but it's not going to "cure" the issue either.
Basically, it's pointless. You can smear coconut oil all over your dog until the cows come home - and he's still going to have a rash. Until you see a vet and find out the problem and get medicine.

Coconut oil on skin rash???? Will it work?
liipl 2
My granny has a rash and I applied some Pure coconut oil on her rash. It appeared to have almost completely dissapeared within 24 hours. I was a bit shocked and I wasen't sure if I was imagining things or not. I decided to conitnue cleaning her skin with water and a very gentle soap. Then, I applied a generous amount of coconut oil to the larger areas where the rash happens to be. I plan to regularly clean her skin and continue applying Pure coconut oil to her skin daily. At least twice a day.
Will this help granny's rash go away?
Answer
It should help your grandmother's rash go away. Coconut oil is extremely good for moisturising the skin and helping with skin irritations, so i would recommend you continue using it. I hope it goes away.
